This is the third Sifex French Property Gazette in association with informationfrance.com . www.sifex.co.uk is currently enjoying a high level of traffic with many regular visitors browsing the site on a daily basis to view the ‘latest’ listings of Chateaux, Belles Demeures or Commercial properties or simply to search for a beautiful property from our Entire Property Portfolio which features a wide range of properties from 400,000 € upwards.

Market conditions: Interest in the French property market remains buoyant with an international audience. Demand is constant and the problem remains the shortage of sought after properties, especially in Southern France, The ability to travel quickly and make a rapid decision is frequently key to a successful purchase. Inevitably with rising prices over the past years, the market for less expensive properties has increasingly expanded into the centre of France and lesser known regions, in particular, the Limousin and the Auvergne.

The Château market: These fascinating historic buildings increasingly represent the best value for money in today’s market compared to other types of property. Prices have not increased in the past twelve months, but nevertheless they remain firm, many chateaux hardly negotiating at all, and some even achieving their full asking prices. Interest remains strong worldwide, especially in the popular South West, for châteaux between 1.5 and 2.5 million Euros. These substantial properties are purchased for a variety of uses, ranging from boutique hotels or up-market chambres d’hotes - to retirement or second homes. The decision to move family and business to France is an increasingly prevalent trend influenced by sophisticated I.T, improved broadband coverage, the universal use of mobile phones and excellent communications, wether by road, rail or air.

Our News Page continues to feature properties of special interest, whether for their price or beauty, and is constantly updated. Here and on all property listings pages, are links to our associates handling Currency Purchase, Mortgages, Home Insurance, Tax Advice, Legal matters and Removals, detailing the services they offer and enabling applicants to contact them directly for quotations and advice.

Because we work with so many French Immobiliers, we are able to present an overview of what is available, guide applicants on market trends and availability and search for specific properties to meet their requirements. The role of our French colleagues in helping overseas buyers with their purchase in France extends far beyond that of a domestic estate agent. Ensuring the smooth transfer of electricity and other services is just one of many areas in which they regularly become involved and their ‘savoir faire’ is invaluable when it comes to the procedure of placing an offer to secure a château. Selling or purchasing a property is not only a financial commitment but is also an emotional decision and part of our role is to liaise with our colleagues to reconcile buyer and seller.
