A truly superb dinner in the seductive surroundings in the old part of the Auberge. The chef takes great care to look after you and grant your palette almost any wish it desires !!

Facing the Chateau d'Olhain, 15 Km South of Bethune, Chef Francis Firmin will welcome you with a smile. L'Auberge du Donjon, a pretty 15th Century building will bring you some pleasant surprises! The huge fireplace in the restaurant, for instance where two whole lambs can be roasted or the Breughel like frescos will take you to the heart of the Middle Ages.
It is in this authentic setting that the chef Francis Firmin stands for his idea of gastronomy. Here, everything is home-made from the 'mignardises', miniature pastries to the smoked salmon, the foie gras, pate, and hams are produced on site
The larger part of the restaurant caters for parties up to 200 people and there is a small dance floor for the revellers !
I was given the privilege of being shown round the kitchens following a memorable dinner starting with foie gras and followed by a cutlet of Lamb roasted in the wood fired oven.
Closed on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings.
