Apt, founded by the Romans on the “Via Domitia”, is the centre town of the Regional Natural Park. Its geographical location, its quality of life and its emblematic specialties make it a small capital city. Lavender fields, cherry orchards, vineyards, olive groves and ochre quarries surround the city and many picturesque villages crown the hills. The famous “mixed clays”, the natural ochre pigments and the famous candied fruits teach us that in this land, industry on a human scale can be a tradition.
Do not forget the famous classified market every Saturday morning, a market of Provence where the locals are as friendly as their land and sun.
