An easy cycle-ride southeast of Beaune, the handsome Hostellerie de Levernois sits in acres of its own grounds, through which winds the pretty River Bouzaize. There’s luxurious accommodation and the superb, Michelin-starred Table de Levernois (menus from €75) but this waterside bistro, serving dishes based around what’s best at market that day, is a delightful spot in which to dine, and the value is exceptional. Try the escargots in a garlic-cream broth.
